Two Chester Men Arrested For Vandalizing State Vehicles During May 30 Riot

Three months after the wild night of demonstrations and riots in Richmond VCU Police arrested two individuals for damaging nine state vehicles.

According to VCU Police on the night of May 30th an officer observed two people breaking the windows of a state vehicle in a lot on 700 West Broad Street. Upon further investigation the officer discovered windshield and window damage on eight additional cars and vans belonging to the university.

In a statement from the university police department two Chesterfield county men are alleged to be responsible for the crimes. Devon Atkins and Del'Shon Bell, both 20, each face one count of felonious destruction of property for their role in the riot related damages.

Atkins' Facebook page lists him as a VCU student, but in a statement university authorities say he no longer is a student there. Bell has no known ties to the university.
