Police Arrest Felon Brandishing Firearm Around Lee Circle

Richmond Police arrested Keyon Hardy on Thursday September 3rd on charges of brandishing a firearm in the area around Lee Circle.

A multi-department task force performing a walkthrough in the Monument Avenue area observed Hardy carrying a suspected firearm and arrested him on a warrant issued the prior day for an incident in the same area. In addition to the brandishing a firearm charge he also faces charges of possession of ammunition by a felon.

In a statement Richmond Police included a photograph of the alleged weapon and described it as appearing to be a military-style assault rifle but upon closer inspection was determined to be a BB gun.

Hardy is known as a frequent participant in events around the circle carrying a katana style weapon in addition to his lookalike firearm. On August 20 Hardy was arrested in Richmond on charges of Illegal Camping and faces a hearing in late September.
