RVA Unrest is a community driven open source effort to explore and document the historic events occurring throughout 2020 in Richmond, Virginia. We collect and aggregate data, evidence and observations from around the region and bring understanding and awareness to the ongoing societal developments. Our efforts are powered by content contributors like you and every datapoint no matter the size helps tell our city’s story.
Our project uses a variety of open source intelligence gathering techniques to collect information. With our capability to broadly source information we fill in all the missing puzzle pieces to tell the story of our historic moment.
The internet is filled with information but much of it decays or is destroyed with time. Our effort attempts to collect and archive these valuable moments before they are lost in the dustbin of the internet.
Further we try to help you understand what is going on during these hectic times and bring clarity where confusion tends to abound.
Publicity is justly commended as a remedy for social and industrial diseases. Sunlight is said to be the best of disinfectants; electric light the most efficient policeman.
